4 • Map layout
Now that your data is satisfactorily represented, you can turn it into a map for use in your reports, articles and presentations. The aim of this section is not to explain good and bad mapping practice (see the course on graphic semiology), but simply to describe some of the features of the QGIS page layout mode.
Start by adding all the layers you need, and removing any unnecessary ones. Choose the style for each layer. Don't forget to choose a suitable CRS for your project (projected if you want to create a scale in metres, for example).
Export your final map as a PNG and add it to the end of your Word document.
